Phew......4 years never update liao.

Blog entry was left untouched for 4 years. I almost forgot that I have my very own blog. Till I recalled, I forgot about my blog login account and password. I wonder is blogging still a fashion or everyone has gone on the bandwagon of Facebook.

4 years....Such a long long time. Many ups and downs, happiness and saddness.  I have become lazy and starts to put on weight. Before I realised that I am going to be 'label' as FAT, I better watch my intake and kick start a exercise regim.  In hopping to turn FAT to FIT.

As for career, I have started to realise that work is only part of it to support my life. I have now balance my 'work' and 'life' to become worklife balance. Nothing to cheer about, just that I am old enough to see thing and be seen.

4 years, I have witnessed friends getting divorced, getting remarried, kicking bucket and some living better life. Well, all these are in the package, it is part of life as we moved on and grow older.

Shift

I am not as happy as I was. I used to wake up early in the morning and will start to crack jokes to start the day. But now, I wake up in the morning full of stress to start the day.

I used to enjoy my way to work. in my little car, I will sing songs play out from the radio, but now, I laid quiet. The mood is rather different, I can feel the different.

Should a higher pay package comes with tons of stress. Sorry loh, I dun believe. The problem here is, have alot of stakeholders, direct supervisors and bosses in this company. Everyone can ask me to do things and carry out tasks. Very soon my stress will become depression if I cannot handle it well.

In my 18 years of career, this is the first time I feel demotralised and disappointed. I have no one to talk to because, I felt useless by talking to anyone. I have kept my fath with lord Buddha. I did not broke any rules of engagement, religiously. So whats is in stall for me?

I questioned lord Buddha, but he has not answer my prayer. When will that be? Only lord Buddha knows.

I am sad. But I need strenght to walk through everyday. Where else can I get the energy to continue on this path.

If I can turn back the clock. I wouldn't have choosen this pathway. Do I stand a chance? Haiz....In the first place, do I have a choice? Please lord Buddha, answer my prayers.

I notice that i have stop blogging for quite sometime. Looking at the last entry date, its like almost a year liao.

Since then, I have changed my job. Did something which I had never thought off. But its still the same old me. My new job requires me to work 5 days. Hence, I have Saturday to spare with my riding activities.

Now, I ride on Wednesday (Coastal), Saturday (LH-East Coast) and Sunday (Coastal). No doubt, I have stop my swimming lesson, but i still enjoying swimming. It had since become my strongest discipline. Now the worst and most fearful discipline is running.

I have stop running for the pass 2 months. Now is time to pick it up, if not, i will be asking for trouble.

As for family, everything is status hold. But I am planning to have a kid so that when I kick the bucket, my dear wife will not be alone to face the ordeal. Cross my finger!!

Updates

Honest. Everytime when I log in, I am at a lost. Firstly, with the heading. Secondly, what should I write about. Hahahaha....

16th May marked the end of my post graduate course. Since securing a 2nd upper class hons, I am not sure what is in-store for me. But I still want to continue to further my study and research methodology which I enjoyed very much during the pass 2 years. (like real)

With the end of the paper chase, I have all the time in the world to swim, bike and run. However, for some 'specify' reasons, I did not managed the time well and let it slip away. I am guilty of wasting time on the cable TV programmes (History channel / National Geography / Discovery channel etc).

In June, during the H1N1 pandemic flu period, I left for a short vacation in Hong Kong. In July, my team (team Seamonsta) and I took part in my 'first' overseas triathlon race in Malaysia, Port Dickson. I enjoyed this race very much. maybe with the accompany of team mates, haha..

In August, I took part in Osim Triathlon. Nothing to cheer about. 16th August, I ran the worst race in my entire running history, the Army Half Marathon, which I dun feel like talk about it.

I am now on a control diet. Drinking 4 litres of water a day. 2 slice of bread and 1 cup of coffee for breakfast. For lunch, I had noodles in clear soup with no oil, just noodles with fishballs. Sometime I will have economical rice, with 5 table spoon of rice and 2 vegetables. For dinner, I will have 3-4 table spoon of rice with some vegetables and no meat. I only take what my body requires for workout.

Last week, I managed to clock a total of 114 laps in the swimming pool on 4 different days. Rode a total of 80km (Mandai loop and Coastal loop) and run a total mileage or 20km. All within a week.

I don't know what am I doing. With no clear objective in mind and nothing to focus on, I simply do it. Even I find it strange and hard to believe.

My wife asked me, what's wrong with you? but I do not have an answer for her. I only know that from now, in what ever I do, I will do to my best ability and will not slack for what ever reasons.

Perhaps, I am secretly aiming towards completing Aviva 70.3 Ironman with an acceptable timing bah....

Life & Death

These few weeks, I have been bolted with loads bad news. 20 June 2009, one of our newbie rider, Michael Chin, age 42, from Joyriders passed away during our Saturday Eastern Newbie ride.

26 June 2009, another shocking news. The king of Pop, Michael Jackson, age 50, passed away. No doubt I am not related to him, but I have grew up together with his songs and dance movement.

28 June 2009, another of my friend, Calvin aka RaveTall, age 43, passed away. Somehow, when we grow older, it seems that we are witnessing more death as compare to birth. Maybe thats life bah.

Cherish what you have in life. Love those people around you. Take advantage of all favourable situation and make the best out of it. Lastly, live life to the fullest. Because I will never know when its my turn to leave this world.

What a swim

After several months, I decided to jump-start my afternoon swim during my short lunch break.

Looking out the window, the sky doesn't look promissing. At the stroke of twelve, I locked up my office and headed for my car. A safe and quick 10mins drive, I reached home ground, SAFRA Tampines.

Changed into my pair of new swimming trunk, I head out to the pool. Hmmm.... It seems rather empty. Once in the pool, I started to propel ahead. Managed to swim 10 laps within 15 mins. made a quick dash to the shower room for a quick bath.

Make it back to the office at 12.50pm. Have a quick bite of Bee Hoon which I had 'ta bao' this morning and swing into action by 1.00pm.

Result: Satisfaction and happy with the swim. I am glad that I have gone for the swim.

One down, one to go (biking) before I end my day.

Updates

In 2 weeks time, all my weeks of bicks training at Mandai will be put into test at Port Dickson International Triathlon. I have been with Team Seamonta for about 1 year. I have to admit that I swim so much better, fast and comfortable.

Last week, we had a swim at Changi Ferry Terminal (Super low tide). Everyone of us swam about 500m out from the shoreline. Out of no where, a ferry boat sounded its honk at us. I have never swam so close o a BIG ferry boat. Scary.....We were so frightened that we may get suck in by the waves.. Close call.

Back on the bike leg. I was able to maintain at 32-34km/h along coastal, selarang loop and Hendon loop. But....I cheated on the running leg. Hahaha. Too hungry to run liao.

Yesterday evening, I tried to put what I have previously read and understand into pratical test. The power of Chi Running. After the run, I wasn't tired or shack after my run. I was able to increase my running pace.

During the run, I was able to consistently focus on my breathing. In order for me to breath better, I raised my head alittle and look out for road markers , such as traffic lights and road sign. (Previously, I alway look on the ground). Hence, I truely enjoyed yesterday run. (6km in 41mins thats about 7mins km/h)

I will try again on Thurday evening to confirm that I have somehow understand the profound of Chi Running.

This evening is back on the saddle with Benson and Wee san at Coastal and Selarang.

Riding

After a hard day of work, I decided to go for a quick spin. Get dress up, conduct a quick check on the tire pressure and brakes, move out of the house by 6.45pm.

While riding towards coastal, met a fellow rider on a Look bike. I decided to just draft behind him comfortably. Once we hit the straight and long coastal road, I overtook him orderly and show my good-will gesture and thank him for allowing me to draft behind him. Thanks. Off I sped towards the end of coastal.

I was unable to maintain in aero position for long. Having switch from top to aero 3 times along the 5km stretch. Unlike Sunday evening, I was able to keep in aero position for the entire journey. Hmmm...Wondering whats wrong with me today. Pace was reasonable between 34 - 36km/h along the way.

Once at Loyang Ave, spotted a truck which was travelling at about 50km/h I gave chase. Drafting behind the truck was fast and fun (47km/h) but rather dangerous. Hehehe.... Bad thought started to run wild in my mind. If that driver jammed his brakes, I am gona hit real hard from behind. Scary! I decided to let it go.

Climbing up both slopes, Loyang Ave and Loyang way, were easy. Along the way, I kept the speed at 34km/h. Made a choice to do the Hendon Camp stretch. The road leading towards Changi Village was empty and the surrounding area is so quiet. Aiyo, it is so scary, I sped off as quick as I can.

On coastal towards the city direction, wind direction is not on my side. At first (near the cargo complex) it was cross wind, then along coastal it was headwind. Managed to maintain the speed between 31-32km/h till the end of coastal. Hmmm... Riding on coastal road in the night seems to be like a endless road leh....

Once completed what i have set for, I decided to detour to Expo and kaypo (check out) on the JR eastern boys. Wah....What a BIG turn out. Fuji Kelvin, Sparten John, Jonhson duck and the rest of the gang members were all there. Looks like a fun ride yet deadly. My guess was right after reading Shaun and Michelle comment on their facebook, 48km/h can still kena dropped like hot potato. Scary...

The next thought hat comes to my mind is, should I join them or should I not?....Hmmm.

Today

My blog died of natural death for the pass 6 months. Understand that keeping a blog page without any updating is as good as giving birth to a child, leaving it alone and witnessing it dying off.

From today onwards, I shall keep my blog alive, I try. Giving greater details and more lengthy account of whats new and happening.

For the pass 6 months, many things and incidents zipped by my life. From completing my studies and joining new group, it has make my life more meaningful than ever.

New Bike

These few weeks, I have been thinking which bike to buy to replace my damaged bike. There are so many choices out there. Pinarello FP3 ($4.9K), Cervelo P2C ($5.3K0 and Orbea Ora($4.2K)....and so on.

I would say it is a pretty messy affair....But I need a bike to get back to my usual life...If I know this is going to be a messy affair, I wouldn't want to be involved in that stupid accident...

Traffic Accident

Hai.......Unfortunately, I met an road traffic accident while riding my bike.  An Audi R8, SJG779G hit me from behind on 1/10/2008 at about 10.12am.

I was on my way to Tuas To meet my fellow cyclists, but before I could make it, I met an accident at the Junction of Changi Road and Frankie Avenue.  The driver was pretty nasty.

Now, I am worry about my claims.  I have suffered in pain due to lose of skin and flesh on my 2 fingers and live with multiple abrasion. What a painful experience.

Call that driver about my claims yet he threw the phone.  What an irresponsible driver!

F1 Fever

So excited......During Friday swiming class, I performed badly. I had a sensation of a stomach 'pull'. This is the second time I felt uncomfortable to swim in this situation. Till today, I could not understand why there is a 'pull'.

When straight home after class and took a light dinner. By 10pm, I was glue to the TV set. First ever live telecast of the F1 race in Singapore. Because friday is only a practices session, you can witnessed that most of the sitting on the grand stand are pretty empty.

Saturday programme was packed. Drop my dear at Bishan for her organ lesson and I head up to Daniel Cheng's son 'full-month' celebration at Yishun. Having to meet some of the Sgrunners, but I was like alien to them. Did not really talk much lah....

Pickup Dear and headed down to Marina Square to watch live F1 action at Bay grandstand. It was wonderful to hear those engines roar. The loudness cannot be decript in words. I have never hear something this loud in my entire life. This roaring could make your heart pump faster, hehehe. Dear dear was too excited to hear those engine roar. The speed of these F1 cars is simply fast, too fast for even a glance.

But the upset is we are stuck in a traffic jam inside Suntec city carpark for more than an hour before get home at 1.00am. Worth it!!!

Sunday, Went for another quick run in the evening. Same distance at 6.5KM timming: 38.40mins. Ok lah...The rest of the night was glue onto teh TV set for the F1 final.

He said,"Ah.....Caught you liao. Now I know what you have been doing." Hehehehe...While do my laps, I did managed to observe Coach. Wah....the way he swam is like shark!!! Powerful yet Smooth like silk.

Thursday lunch, another 22 laps. Eveninga 6.5km run. Timing: 38mins. Not too bad. Today, swimming lesson in the evening and plan for a simple ride. Tomorrow, interesting day ahead for F1 race.

Another Interesting Weekend

Wow....Interesting weekend I had. As usual, Saturday was shopping the whole day at vivocity with my wife. We had a wonderful dinner in 'Dian Xiao Er'.

Sunday was the turning point of a interesting end. It is very rare of my wife to ask me out for breakfast on Sunday. After debating what to have for breakfast, we decided to have it at Bedok Interchange foodcentre.

After breakfast, I have to sent her back home while I continued my way for my open sea swim at Changi Ferry Terminal. Arrived at almost 11 am for the swim. By the time coach deployed the bouy, it was really 11.25pm.

During that time, we (classmate) chatted and shared our pass experience in open water swim. I declared to them that I am not a open water fellow but came here to build up my courage and makes the numbers....Hahaha..

At the starting point, we have to swim out 50m in the open sea to simulate the Fina swim start in the water. This will also avoid fishing lines further down the shore. Coach said, 'Everyone at least 1 lap.' Eh......I can't ever spot the bouy so how far is that floating bouy??? No body knows.

Starting to paddle. I did not worried or panic. Metalilty was just swim loh. Going towards the bouy was simple. Coming back was like 'How far am I away from teh shoreline.' Because, I only take my breath to the left side...So have to stop many times to check my position. I do want to swim until tekong. Hahaha.....

Completed my first lap. Helen 'chio' me for the second lap. Surprisingly, this little 'Iron-woman' (She completed her aviva ironman) told me to sight her as she is frighten of the sea. Huh....I shouted, "You ok or not, I never even do any open water competition swim, you tell me to guard you?' You ok, or not???

Anyway, I am also alittle 'gain' to go for another loop. All in all 2 loops. While chit-chatting in the middle of the open sea with coach, someone told us that the distance is about 460m for 1 loop. Huh.....I finished 2 loops, that is almost 1.8km. In my heart, I asked myself sure or not.

Coach asked me to sign up for the 3km FINA swim on 4 October, if not, I will have to pay him today fees (in a joking manner lah). Till today, I am still very unsure.

Swimming session ended almost 1pm. Rushed home to bath, dress up, quick lunch and I am out of the house at 1.30pm. (Transition, T1) Drove to wisma Aria for my photography lesson by organised by Sony. Class started at 2pm. Vincent (my best pal) already reserved a table for me. Thanks buddy.

The lesson was very interesting and useful. Julian w. shared certain tips and experiences in photography skills. By the end of the lesson, we kind of, fall in love with our DSLR camera.

Vincent 'chio' me for the masters class for photography, I have greed to. We have a short chit-chat session at 'food junction' before I send him off to Ang Mo kio to meet up with his wife, Yi Tian.

Reach home at 6.10pm, my wife was waiting for me to go for a run. Another transition to running attire and started to hammer the road for another 7km. (chop-chop one). I enjoyed running with my wifey. She is a fast runner now....Good keep up the good pace.

Hoping that my next weekend will be another interesting one.
